Boiron

Health & wellness

The brief

China's imported baby-care and first-aid skincare segment rewards trust over trend. Parents researching a cream for a newborn's skin want a short ingredient list and a heritage they can verify, not a viral claim. Boiron, the French homeopathic pharmacy group, entered this exact gap: no factory story, no celebrity endorsement, just a single calendula-based cream and a habit built over decades in French households.

Boiron opened its Hangzhou trading entity in 2018 and launched an official Tmall flagship store built around one product, Calendula Cream, rather than a full skincare range. The store's positioning stayed narrow on purpose: baby and sensitive skin, the audience most likely to research an imported cream before buying and most likely to repeat-purchase once trust is earned. That focus, sustained over several years of consistent listing and positioning work rather than a single campaign, is what carried the brand to a platform-level result: Calendula Cream ranked in Tmall's own top 5 for imported baby creams, and Boiron was named Tmall's "Rising Star" brand in 2019.

Started by the brothers Boiron more than 85 years, the Boiron laboratories have since been focused on bringing high quality cosmetic and food supplements to the public. The MNC is present in 59 country and is the largest manufacturer of homeopathic product in the world.

The challenges for Boiron in China lies in building a strong e-reputation for its products. China is a favorable market for food supplement and homeopathy, the country is known for its TCM (Traditionnal Chinese medicine) made from plants and animals. Through PR and e-Reputation marketing our main goal for Boiron is to win the trust of chinese consumers.
