China Beauty Expo (CBE) 2026: What Every Brand Needs to Know Before Attending

By Inna Kowalsky

The China Beauty Expo has run for over 25 years as one of the most recognized trade platforms for cosmetics, personal care, fragrances, and beauty-related services. It is Asia’s premier beauty trade show. But attending CBE without a China market strategy behind you is a wasted trip. The expo opens doors. It does not close deals for you.

Location: Shanghai New International Expo Center (SNIEC)
Next edition: May 2026
Exhibitors: Over 3,500 companies annually, including 1,000+ international brands
Entry: Accessible for businesses of all sizes

The Chinese Beauty Market in 2026

Chinese consumers no longer buy beauty products on impulse. They research, compare, and validate before spending. Female consumers in tier-1 and tier-2 cities favor brands with strong reputations and visible price points, reading premium pricing as a quality signal. That dynamic has not changed. What has changed is where they do that research.

AI assistants, short-video feeds, and social search now drive discovery. If your brand does not appear in those channels, it does not exist for most Chinese buyers, regardless of how many booths you take at CBE.

Key international players active in the market: L’Oréal Paris, Lancôme, Yves Saint Laurent, Estée Lauder, Shiseido. They did not win China at trade shows. They won it with consistent digital presence across multiple platforms, year-round.
